The Works involved the construction of a replacement Jetty on steel piles, with steel and Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) supporting frame and recycled plastic decking. The Jetty is approximately 34 m long and is connected back to the existing concrete footpath.
The project included:
Preparation and implementation of appropriate management plans;
Removal of the Existing jetty, including stockpiling existing timber members (excluding piles) to be salvaged;
Earthworks for new jetty abutment;
In-situ concreting for a new concrete abutment;
Construction of scour protection in front of new jetty abutment;
Supply and installation of steel piling, including corrosion protection;
Supply, fabrication and installation of steelwork for the supporting structure;
Supply and installation of decking, handrail, kerbs, FRP joists and connections;
Supply and installation of timber chafers; and Supply and installation of LED lights, signage and furniture.
The project was effectively managed without environmental incident and minimal impact to the surrounding stakeholders.
