Advanteering were engaged to demolish an old timber bridge structure and construct a new reinforced concrete bridge structure with a box culvert base.
The old bridge blended in with the landscape nicely and provided a rustic country charm. Unfortunately, the timber stringers were starting to rot and needed replacing.
The turning circle for vehicles accessing Glen Road from Victor Road was also hazardous.
The project included:
- Engagement of Indigenous Monitors for supervision of ground-disturbing works
- Vegetation clearing
- Construction of a temporary side track for the detour of vehicles
- Bulk earthworks
- Pavement construction
- Bitumen surfacing
- Installation of stormwater drainage
- Demolition of the existing timber bridge structure
- Bulk earthworks for the new bridge structure
- Construction of reinforced concrete base slab
- Installation of pre-cast box culverts
- Construction of reinforced concrete wing walls and headwalls
- Pavement construction for new wearing surface over bridge structure
- Installation of bridge guardrails
- Rock protection to bridge embankments
- Installation of signs, line marking & traffic ancillaries
The project was effectively managed without safety or environmental incidents. All work was completed ahead of time and to budget.
