The Yoting Bridge Replacement, completed between October 2023 and April 2024, was a $5M infrastructure upgrade delivered successfully on schedule. Despite challenges such as dewatering and unsuitable material removal, efficient planning and execution ensured smooth progress. Effective traffic management minimized disruptions, while strong environmental practices, including recycling and sediment control, reinforced the project’s sustainability.

This project included:

  • Construction works within an environmentally sensitive river area.
  • Clearing of vegetation and trees.
  • Bulk earthworks.
  • Design of a MRWA approved Traffic management plan.
  • Implementation of various TM scenarios such lane closures with stop/slow or traffic lights.
  • Staging of roadworks to minimize disruption to road users.
  • Dewatering to allow for bridge foundation construction.
  • Installation of geofabric lined sand and rock filter layers at the base of embankments.
  • Construction of concrete abutment and wingwalls with anti-graffiti coating.
  • Installation of 12.6m long precast concrete beams.
  • Constriction of reinforced concrete bridge deck with kerbs and down turns.
  • Construction of a 2-way sealed sidetrack.
  • Gravel pavement construction.
  • Application of a 2-coat bitumen seal.
  • Installation of safety barriers to the bridge and approaches.
  • Rock protection to the bridge abutment and drainage works.
  • Demolition of the existing bridge 0597.
  • Signage installation and line marking.
This project highlights our expertise in complex civil works, including bulk earthworks, dewatering, traffic management, and structural concrete construction. Despite challenges such as unsuitable material removal, compaction failures, and adjustments to traffic control, our team successfully delivered a high-quality bridge and roadway that will serve the community for years to come.
