The project involved extending an existing noise wall along Tonkin Highway, north of The Promenade, Ellenbrook. The extension measured 380 meters and incorporated 2.9–5.7m high precast panels supported by CFA piles drilled up to 6 meters deep. Challenges included limited access, necessitating creative solutions for construction logistics, including the removal of wire guardrails and construction of a limestone hardstand for efficient site entry. The project required overcoming design conflicts, adjusting construction plans on-site, and ensuring minimal environmental impact.
The Project Included:
- Protection and relocation of existing services including PSP lighting and CCTV.
- Installation of 101No. CFA piles (750mm diameter x 6m depth).
- Supply and install of structural steel columns.
- Supply and install of precast panels up to 5.7m in height.
- Application of anti-graffiti coatings.
- Removal and re-instatement of chainmesh fencing.
- Reinstatement of the adjacent PSP including removal of all temporary access tracks.
