Advanteering completed Phase 1 of the FFBH upgrade in September 2023. This involved reclaiming land for the Amenities Building by extending the southern land-backed wharf, which added approximately 600 square meters of new land. Upgraded services were installed along the southern edge of Capo D’Orlando Drive. Additionally, pedestrian pathways and landscaping were improved to make the southern precinct more accessible, inviting, and safer for the public.
The project included:
- Reclaiming an area at the eastern end of the Capo D’Orlando Drive wharf, with stages of demolition, rock revetment reinstatement, sheetpile installation, and concrete capping beams.
- Removing and treating existing infrastructure and materials, including contaminated soil, along the southern and northern footpath and services corridor.
- Removing and replacing the retaining wall and fence near Fremantle Sailing Club and Wilson Marine.
- Building a new 500m services corridor and pedestrian footpath along Capo D’Orlando Drive.
- Constructing a new in-situ concrete retaining wall.
- Installing fencing, concrete pedestrian paths, and landscaped areas with irrigation.
- Installing and commissioning pedestrian solar lighting.
- Installing and commissioning new services (sewer, water, fire water, power, CCTV, comms) and connecting them to local mains.
- Setting up a new vessel sullage facility at the western end of the wharf, including all necessary services.
The project was effectively managed without environmental incident. All of the works were completed on time and on budget
