Advanteering successfully revitalised the Mount Henry Jetty for the City of Melville, transforming a condemned and deteriorated structure into a safe, modern, and visually appealing asset for the local community. Through sustainable practices, strong subcontractor partnerships, and efficient planning, the project was completed with high quality results and strong community support.
Demolition of the existing condemned jetty using a top-down method, with materials recycled where possible.
Removal of existing timber piles at seabed level via barge, with all reusable timber repurposed off-site.
Construction of a new reinforced concrete abutment on the original jetty footprint.
Installation of 17 new piles using air and drop hammers from barges suited to shallow and deeper waters.
Fabrication and installation of steel headstocks with accurate alignment achieved using stringlines and total station.
Installation of prefabricated FRP joists and decking, allowing for fast and efficient site assembly.
Construction and fitting of custom timber kerbing and marine-grade fenders, including all finishing works.
Installation of Denso pile jackets and large sacrificial anodes for long-term protection of new piles.
Completion of final elements including handrails, bollards, lighting, and asphalt surfacing.
The Mount Henry Jetty upgrade is a great example of Advanteering’s expertise in marine and structural works. The team’s early procurement strategy, quality-focused subcontractors, and on-site problem-solving ensured a successful outcome.
