Advanteering successfully delivered a vital infrastructure upgrade in regional Western Australia by replacing an aging timber bridge with a durable three-barrel precast concrete box culvert structure. The project also included significant roadworks to improve traffic flow and safety. Complete demolition of a deteriorating timber bridge and abutments, replaced with a modern precast concrete box culvert system featuring head and wing walls for durability and improved flow capacity.
Reinstated and widened 400 metres of roadway from 6m to 8.2m, including a 1m gravel shoulder and cement stabilisation of the top 250mm of gravel basecourse to ensure longevity and strength.
A major milestone was achieved with the successful pouring of 154m³ of concrete over 12 hours during the early hours of the morning — a testament to team coordination and planning.
Strong collaboration with the local community allowed the use of farmland for laydown areas and a bypass track, reducing costs and improving access. Shire-provided resources such as a watercart and roller further supported efficient delivery.
